Self-compassion is not selfish;
it’s a necessary regulating practice.
— Andrew Susskind

Welcome to the Spring 2021 issue of Westside Notes. As the vaccines roll out and the Spring flowers blossom, it feels like more hope is in the air. Although the pandemic isn’t over, we have weathered it so far and will keep moving forward together. Last October I said goodbye to my professional home of the last 12 years. For now I’ve been working out of my home office, and I’ll keep you posted on my search for a new space. As I mentioned in a previous newsletter, my associate, Jen Davis graduated—a bittersweet ending as I’ve chosen to take a break from mentoring talented associates. Lastly, I started a new Men’s Process Group on Tuesdays from 4:30-5:45pm, which has been a refreshing addition to my clinical week (one current opening).

It’s Not About the Sex Update

During the past year I’ve been offering webinars, virtual workshops, podcasts and blogs to keep the ball rolling with the message of my book. Recently, I was informed that my podcast has surpassed 5000 downloads as my mission to destigmatize compulsive sexual behavior expands. Just a reminder that It’s Not About the Sex is available on Amazon, Kindle or Audible at www.amazon.com.
