Welcome to the Spring edition of
Westside Notes.
I hope you’re doing okay and I wish
you resilience and resourcefulness during these unprecedented times. My practice
always seems to mirror what’s happening in our environment and this feels more
magnified than ever.
Although I still see individual clients, my vision keeps telling me to
focus more and more on my groups and on Brainspotting. As I continue to fine-tune my
practice, I’ll be sure to keep you posted.

About
the Sex Updates
The Book: I’m pleased to say that my book continues to progress and my publisher,
Central Recovery Press has been very encouraging of its growth. I am so grateful for all
the support since its release in 2019.
The Workbook: On the other hand, the workbook has gotten off to a slow start, so I
have two requests for you:
- Because of its grassroots nature, word-of-mouth is one of the greatest forms of
promotion. If you read the workbook, I appreciate you recommending it to a
colleague, client, family member or friend.
- Amazon reviews are essential for visibility and credibility. Therefore, any
review—short or long— is valuable. In this time of on-line presence, this is part of
the marketing puzzle that seems to propel any publication. If you have a few
minutes, click here for my Amazon workbook page.
The Podcast: After 6 years, 128 episodes and 60 guests, I’ve decided to bring the
podcast to an end. It’s a bittersweet decision but I feel that I’ve shared what I want to
share, and I now pass the baton to others doing this important work toward de-
stigmatizing compulsive sexual behavior and trauma.
Fortunately, all episodes will be
archived and available indefinitely for those who may benefit, but we will release our
finale Friday May 2nd . It’s been such a pleasure to work so closely with my long-time
friend and podcast producer, Sue Merlino and I’m incredibly grateful for the many
guests who visited with us and made the experience bigger than I ever imagined it to
be. Click here to view the podcast.

Brainspotting Update
It’s been almost 10 years since my first Brainspotting training with my mentor, Pie Frey
and I feel more aligned with this work than ever. Through the years I’ve attended many
Brainspotting trainings and have enjoyed assisting Pie here in L.A.—the most recent
was this past February in Pasadena.
I’ve also attended two “intensives” near Boulder
where I immersed myself for a week of training in a more intimate setting. Not only has
Brainspotting been something to infuse into my practice but on a personal note, I’ve
chosen to see a Brainspotting therapist to keep healing my own nervous system.
Volunteering: Recently, I began volunteering for Brainspotting Help, an international
non-profit organization providing trauma healing and support to communities affected by
war and disasters. The program took shape to help those in the Ukraine and has
expanded to help people in Maui, North Carolina, Southern California and more. If you
know anyone who might benefit from this pro bono service (up to 10 free sessions),
please contact www.brainspottinghelp.com
As we enjoy the blooms of Spring, I wish you all a very safe and peaceful time despite
the highly unusual challenges we face.
With gratitude,
Andrew
