Once again the Group Psychotherapy Association of Los Angeles is hosting its annual conference, and this is an event not to be missed. Because much of the 2-day conference is experiential, I always leave with a renewed experience of what it takes to be an effective group therapist as well as a renewed appreciation for the courage and hard work it takes to show up as a client in group. Resource of the Month:
The Bridge to Recovery

In mid-July I had the pleasure of visiting The Bridge to Recovery in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Not only is it unique in its treatment focus, but the staff is one of the friendliest, most down-to-earth groups of people I’ve come across in a long time. The Bridge was founded in 1972 as a non-profit, mission-driven organization, and today they are one of the premier programs that treats codependency, trauma and process addictions in a very cost-effective way. They just announced that they will be opening a West Coast location in Santa Barbara which I also had the opportunity to visit, and it’s quite impressive. I highly recommend that you keep them in mind if you’re looking for a quality program at a very reasonable price. Many of you have visited my suite of offices, but for those of you that haven’t seen them, it’s become a really special professional home where I hope to stay for a long time to come. I’m currently anticipating a few changes so if you know of anyone looking for part-time space on the Westside, I’d be happy to speak with them. Here is the current availability in my suite:

     My office (15 X 15, windowed):
     all day Fridays and Saturdays.

     Medium-sized office (10 X 15, windowed):
     all day Monday, Tuesday & Thursday morning.
     (this office space will be available November 1st)

     Medium-sized office (10 X 16, windowed):
     Wednesdays til 4pm, all day Fridays.

     Interior office (cozy, 10 X 11, transom):
     Mondays until 5pm and all day Fridays.
