“This world is but a canvas Welcome to the Summer issue of Westside Notes. I just returned from the Big Island of Hawaii and witnessed the awesome power of Kilauea—possibly the most active volcano in the world. Not only was it mesmerizing to see, but it also serves as a perspective-builder reminding us of the earth’s spectacular energy. When visiting Hawaii, Kilauea is definitely a must-see. Now it’s back to the urban rhythm of L.A. and all it has to offer.
Many of you already know that I’ve been looking for a new home for my practice, and I very much appreciate any additional contacts or leads. Here’s my wishlist:
Part-time, post-graduate position available for MSW associate or MFT intern. Addictions experience required, group and bereavement experience preferred. Email resumé to andrew@westsidetherapist.com.
My intern, John Chebultz, M.A. is currently forming a men’s group which will meet weekly in our Westside office on Tuesdays from 8-9:30pm. The group fee is $45 per group and John is currently setting up consultations with prospective candidates. For more information or to set up an appointment, please call 310.288.1650.
In September I’ll be speaking at the Society for the Advancement of Sexual Health (SASH) conference in Boston. My workshop is entitled From Now On: The 7 Keys to Purposeful Recovery and will introduce the tools and strategies of Recovery Coaching to the sexual recovery community. For more details, please visit their website at www.sash.net. In early June my colleagues Linda Landon, Pat Moomey and I gave a presentation at the Milestones Quarterly Luncheon in Malibu which was quite well-received and great fun to present together. Please don’t forget that my Recovery Coaching blog is up and running so feel free to take a look at Westside Post.
Last month my article entitled Purposeful Recovery: What’s Coaching Got to do with It? was published in Steps for Recovery. It shares an overview of Recovery Coaching and can be viewed on their website.
Resource of the Month
Clearview Treatment Centers
During the past two years I’ve had the opportunity to offer a weekly coaching group to the clients of Clearview’s outpatient program here in Los Angeles. Not only have I had the chance to get to know their highly-qualified and caring staff better and better, but I’ve also heard from many clients about the top-notch quality of their treatment experience.
If you prefer not to receive future issues, simply click the unsubscribe button below and I look forward to connecting in other ways. In the meantime, enjoy the summer season and take good care. Gratefully, Andrew |
