Westside Notes

Welcome to Westside Notes

Welcome to the second issue of Westside Notes, a quarterly e-zine to stay connected and share some user-friendly, relevant information with you. Hope your summer was a good one, and I wish you all the best during this season of shorter days and cooler nights.

Many of you know that I’ve been blessed with some really talented associates in my therapy practice these past few years, and this summer I said goodbye to Buck Dodson who has chosen to begin the next chapter of his career in Chicago. It was a joy to see him deepen in his work and he brought a vibrant energy to my practice. I trust that Buck will continue to bring warmth, authenticity and depth to all his new experiences. As a result, I have a current opening for a new associate in my practice:

Private Practice
Psychotherapy Associate Position:

Seeking unlicensed therapist (MSW or MFT intern) with background in addictions, bereavement, and teens. Email resumé to andrew@westsidetherapist.com.

Breaking New Ground

As I complete the 2nd year of a 3-year Somatic Experiencing (SE) training, I’ve noticed my therapy practice take on new dimensions as I integrate the tools of SE into my work. Many of you have asked for more information about SE, so please click the following link www.traumahealing.com for details. I’ll be attending the 1st Annual Somatic Experiencing Conference in Berkeley in late October, so hopefully I’ll see some of you there.

This summer I participated in the California Consortium of Addiction Professionals in Santa Barbara and deepened my knowledge of quality resources around the country. Please feel free to call me if you’re looking for the right treatment for your clients, friends or family members. If I don’t know, I always know someone who does know.

In November I'll be attending the International Coach Federation conference in Long Beach, and I look forward to seeing some of you there. Recovery Coaching remains my passion as I optimistically wait for the launch of my workbook. Although I have no definitive news to share, I believe that it’s a matter of time for the project to take shape. This past spring I began facilitating a weekly coaching group at Clearview Treatment Center (www.clearviewtreatment.com) which has been another rich experience to introduce the tools of coaching to those in treatment.
